Gator Cases ATA-Style Fit-All Guitar Case with TSA Latches for Electric Guitars Reviews

One for an older Fernandes and the other for my older Selder. Both guitars fit great and I'm in love with how secure the latches are. The case feels rock solid and I would have no worries what so ever taking it through and airport. Both case currently have my guitars secure inside and are somewhere in a shipping container between Japan and America and I have no fear at all that both guitars will be in perfect condition when I take them out at the other side. Which is a lot more than can be said for my acoustic that I have in a Guardian Case right now. I'll be buying a third one of these cases when I finish restoring and rebuilding my Jackson and hopefully a version for my acoustic S. Yairi to replace the terrible Guardian Case it is in. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful By CHUS01 Fan (Baltimore, MD USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Gator Cases ATA-Style Fit-All Guitar Case with TSA Latches for Electric Guitars (Electronics) Plastic is the way to go. Forget the plywood cases. They weigh a ton, and don't protect your guitar any better. The latches on this case are very nice. They can be opened and closed easily with one hand, and they seem tough and secure. I much prefer them over the latches on the SKB. My Mexican stratocaster fits perfectly, and is very secure with plenty of space around the headstock. It just dropped right in and fit, with no forcing but it doesn't wiggle either. They measured perfectly. I'm docking it a star because the velvet could be nicer and it's more of a purple than the red I was anticipating (at least under fluorescent lights). Also one of the hinges is a few millimeters off and when you put the case down in a quiet room you can hear a squeak from that side. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful By 14thAndBroad "CS" (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Gator Cases ATA-Style Fit-All Guitar Case with TSA Latches for Electric Guitars (Electronics) I purchased this case after also considering Fender, Schecter, and SKB hardshell cases. The case is well constructed. The exterior is constructed of the standard ABS-style plastic found on most hardshell cases. The middle latch locks and is TSA compatible. The latches are slightly raised off of the case, however they are designed in a manner that it is unlikely that either of the end latches could accidentally be released in transit. The handle is very solidly constructed and molded. The interior has a red crushed-velvet style and seems fairly well padded. The space for the guitar body consists of an open rectangle, so it will accommodate most Strat-shaped guitars. There is a raised neck support in the middle of the case that supports most of the neck's length. The headstock will be suspended in another open rectangular area. There is no direct support for the headstock, although with the molding and length of the neck support, I don't really think it is necessary... Read more |
